About Ki Martial Arts
Thank you for choosing KI-Martial Arts School
KI-Martial Arts System came from the East and the West.
The name KI means energy, power and life force. We can receive true
power, courage, love and wisdom from learning and teaching about KI. The
name KI chosen by Head Master Sin Seok Jeong who is the owner of KI-Martial
Arts. He has been in Korean Martial Arts since 6yrs old and graduated from
one of the best Martial Arts colleges in Korea and has a Masters degree in
Martial Arts from Amerstate in the U.S. In Korea, Master Jeong trained with
the World Tae Kwon Do Federation for the Olympics and World completions and
Kukkiwon (The World Tae Kwon Do Headquarters) for certification and
seminars.

In America there are many different Martial Arts schools and
Associations. Anyone can open a Martial Arts school easily without a license
or certifications. Because of this many Instructors are not knowledgeable in
Martial Arts, but, Martial Arts in Korea is very different. Instructors who
want to open a Martial Arts School in Korea need a teaching license and need
a good background such as obtaining a Martial Arts and Physical Education
college diploma, as well as having competition experience and many
certifications.
Having a Tae Kwon Do Martial Arts Major in Korea is very popular because
many people believe that Tae Kwon Do Martial Arts is a very good value for
children. There were three main Martial Arts Colleges in Korea in the
beginning and they all involved achieving a Martial Arts career that can be
carried all over the world after graduating from these schools.

Nowadays, there are many Tae Kwon Do Martial arts majors in Korean
colleges, but these three colleges are still considered to be very
powerful foundations that built Martial Arts it what it is today.
Master Jeong not only brought one of the best Korean Martial Arts
systems, Tae Kwon Do with him but also Hap Ki Do and Yong Mu Do.
Master Jeong came to the United States in 1997, and in 2000 opened
KI-Martial Arts School with his wife Melissa which grew it into what
it is today.

Since KI-Martial Arts was established, KI-Martial Arts grew ties
with the Chicago Martial Arts Association which is the biggest group
of Martial Arts Instructors in IL, and the US Yong In University
Alumni association, the US Yong Mu Do Association and Amerstate
University.
The Martial Arts industry in America has changed a lot since Master
Jeong came here from Korea. For instance there are now Martial Arts
After school programs, summer camps and many different events and
services for students. KI-Martial Arts After School and Summer Camp
are very educational, safe, challenging, convenient, and fun. We
hope that all of our members enjoy KI-Martial Arts School and we are
happy to see all of you in class.
